  • Richard McCathron CEO and President of Hippo

    Richard McCathron is Hippo’s CEO and President and has served as a member of the Board of Directors since February 2017. Prior to Hippo, Mr. McCathron held senior executive positions at insurance companies including First Connect Insurance as its President & Chief Executive Officer, Superior Access Insurance as its President & Chief Executive Officer and Mercury Insurance Group as its Regional Vice President. Mr. McCathron is both a Chartered Property & Casualty Underwriter and a Certified Insurance Counselor and sits on the board of directors of Spinnaker Insurance Company and First Connect Insurance.

  • Dan Rosenthal Chief Revenue and Operations Officer, Root

    As Root’s Chief Revenue & Operations Officer, Dan is responsible for driving revenue and streamlining operations within the business. Dan oversees performance marketing and growth, corporate strategy, business development, and insurance, including underwriting and pricing initiatives. Dan served as the company’s CFO from 2019 to 2022. Dan has spent most of his career leading innovative firms in the aviation industry. He is the co-founder of Milestone Aviation Group, which was acquired by GE Capital in 2015.

  • Brian Poppe Chief Data Officer, Mutual of Omaha

    Brian Poppe is the Chief Data Officer at Mutual of Omaha. In this role, Poppe is building a cloud-based analytics platform, enabling actionable insights, and increasing the usage of machine learning to make business outcomes all while ensuring Mutual of Omaha’s data is secured, protected, and utilized appropriately. Poppe has held a variety of actuarial and corporate roles at Mutual of Omaha, including heading up Technology Modernization, leading one of its business units, creating the company’s innovation team, and working in Risk Management.

  • Mindi Work SVP, Chief of Strategy, Symetra

    Mindi E. Work is senior vice president and chief of strategy for Symetra Financial Corporation and its insurance subsidiaries. She leads the company’s corporate strategic planning process, including the development, design and business execution of strategic programs. In 2021, Symetra launched SwiftTerm, which allows customers to buy term life insurance in 25 minutes. SwiftTerm won the 2021 Gartner Eye on Innovation Award and 2022 Celent Model Insurer Award.

  • Jon Soberg Managing Partner, MS&AD Ventures

    Jon Soberg is Managing Partner at MS&AD Ventures, an early-stage venture capital firm focused on the future of finance, risk assessment, and building a sustainable society. Jon has made over 120 investments across 5 continents and has held more than 40 board positions. Prior to becoming an investor, Jon was a serial entrepreneur and operator, with an IPO exit at Adforce. Jon has a Master's degree in Engineering, a CFA, and is an MBA and Palmer Scholar at Wharton. Jon is ranked #13 on Business Insider's Seed 100 list of top seed investors.

  • Gage Caligaris Founder & CEO, Ledgebrook

    Prior to entering the world of insurance, Gage used his degree in Applied Mathematics from Harvard to trade exotic commodity derivatives at Barclays. His insurance career started in the Actuarial program at Liberty Mutual where he became the fastest person ever to pass the Casualty Actuarial exams. From there, various management positions culminated in the role of Senior Director of New Mobility Products where he spearheaded growth from <$50M to >$450M in GWP. His unique combination of entrepreneurial drive & deep insurance industry expertise represent the foundational bedrock of Ledgebrook.

  • Rachel Olney Founder/CEO, Geosite

    Rachel Olney is the Founder and CEO of Geosite Inc. She has taught innovation frameworks and built standard operating procedures for the most elite US special operations teams and is an instructor for Technology and National Security at Stanford University. She has helped create and scale an international program in national security innovation and conducted research for the US Air Force on the Strategic Implications of Commercialization of Space. Her PhD work at Stanford addressed Innovation in Necessarily Bureaucratic and Hierarchical Organizations for which she studied engineering teams across US Cyber Command.

  • Nigel Walsh Managing Director for Insurance, Google Cloud, and host of InsurTech Insider

    Nigel is the Managing Director for Insurance at Google Cloud, responsible for leading the firms approach to Insurance, leveraging the best in market capability from Google's Cloud proposition, addressing mission critical Insurance challenges, from claims and underwriting to leveraging our AI and ML know how - driving better business outcomes. Nigel also works with the broader Alphabet companies to bring their experience and insights to partner with our existing insurance customers.

  • Tyrre Burks CEO/Founder, Players Health

    CEO and Founder Tyrre Burks was born and raised in the southside of Chicago, where his love of sports began. As a former collegiate and professional athlete, he was motivated to found Players Health because of the impact youth sports had on his life. He experienced firsthand the positive impact sports can have on someone’s life when the experience is filled with love, trust, and safety. From athlete to coach to entrepreneur, Tyrre is on a mission through Players Health to create safer and more accessible environments for all sports.

  • Adarsh Rachmale Co-Founder & CEO, CoverTree

    Adarsh Rachmale is the Co-Founder & CEO of CoverTree, an insurtech focused on revolutionizing specialty personal lines of insurance. They are bringing digital distribution, automated underwriting, and data-driven pricing to undeveloped lines of business - serving middle America. Their marquee product line is insurance for manufactured homes (modular, tiny, ADU). Beyond densely populated metropolitan areas exists an alternative housing boom brought on by the pandemic, changing demographics, and supply chain issues for on-site building. CoverTree is a team of 20 based in Detroit, MI and Cincinnati, OH.

  • Marcus Verrall CTO, ROLLiN’ (IAG)

    Marcus has over 25 years’ experience directing technical and creative teams in digital marketing, application development and operations for some of Australia’s best known brands, and a number of start-ups, in financial services, media and entertainment, travel, and utilities. He has been at IAG since 2017, helping to transform an established challenger insurance brand before becoming an intrapreneur, founding a digital customer first experimentation engine, now known as ROLLiN’ Insurance.

  • John Kim Founder of Brewer Lane Ventures and former President of New York Life

    John is Founder and Managing Partner at Brewer Lane Ventures. John has helped lead top financial institutions, most recently as President and Chief Investment Officer of New York Life and previously as CEO of the retirement or investment management divisions of Prudential, Cigna, and Aetna. Prior to this, he saw the promise of fintech before the term existed, as CEO of BondBook, a bond trading technology startup seeded by a consortium of investment banks led by Goldman Sachs and Merrill Lynch. Outside of his Brewer Lane-related board roles, John serves as a board director for Franklin Templeton and Eversource Energy and served previously for Fiserv.

  • James Roche Vice President of Product Management, Verisk

    James Roche is the Vice President of Product Management at Verisk. He is responsible for product strategy and the development of new and enhanced, innovative solutions for personal & commercial lines property underwriting. James is a data analytics and insurance executive, having spent 25 years in the industry with roles across a variety of divisions including claims, operations, and underwriting.

  • Dan Woods Founder and CEO, Socotra

    Dan Woods is the Founder and CEO of Socotra, the first modern, cloud-based platform for technology-driven insurers. Before Socotra, Dan did IT investing and portfolio management for Formation 8 Partners (now 8VC), where he specialized in data platforms and smart enterprise software.

  • Ekine Akuiyibo VP of Business Development and Deployments, Socotra

    Ekine Akuiyibo is the Vice President of Business Development and Deployments at Socotra, where he oversees field engineering, product delivery, partnerships, training, and support. Prior to Socotra, Ekine spent 15 years in enterprise software development, sales, and services at Sun Microsystems, BAE Systems, and Oracle.

  • Victor Fateh Product Lead, Marketplace, Socotra

    Victor leads product development for Socotra App MarketPlace. Prior to this role, he led technical implementations with Socotra's largest customers across the world. He previously developed and demonstrated the Socotra App MarketPlace initial release at ITC 2021.

  • Chuck Wilson Director of Business Development and Deployments, Socotra

    Chuck Wilson is Director of Business Development and Deployments at Socotra. He was previously the Co-founder and CEO of Avolanta, which provided the only unified portal connecting insurers, agents, and customers. Avolanta was acquired by Socotra in May 2022. Chuck brings more than 25 years of experience working in insurance technology.

  • Irene Paguio Presales Strategy & Engagement Lead, Socotra

    Irene Paguio leads Presales Strategy & Engagement at Socotra. Prior to this role, she worked as a Technical Program Manager at a fintech company that was acquired by BlackRock. She also previously worked for an insurance broker and holds an active California insurance agent license in Life, Accident and Health.
