Socotra achieved 99.9978% uptime across 48 upgrades in 2025, reinforcing its position as the most reliable policy administration system in the market.
Socotra, the leading provider of cloud-native insurance technology, today announced its platform reliability metrics for 2025. On average, Socotra customers experienced less than 12 minutes of planned and unplanned downtime in 2025*. These metrics reflect combined downtime even with 48 backward-compatible upgrades delivered to each Socotra customer in 2025.
For the third consecutive year, Socotra is the only insurance cloud technology provider to publicly release its reliability metrics. With average uptime of 99.9961% in 2023 and 99.9941% in 2024, Socotra customers experienced only 68 minutes of total downtime across 2023, 2024, and 2025 combined.
“Socotra is still the only policy administration system to take cloud seriously,” said Dan Woods, CEO of Socotra. “We deliver consumer-grade reliability, performance, and upgrades because we use the same technologies and techniques as platforms such as Gmail, LinkedIn, and Zoom. We hope others in the industry will follow our example.”
Socotra’s 2025 Reliability Metrics
Setting a new industry standard, Socotra is once again the only policy administration provider to publicly disclose its uptime metrics, underscoring the company’s commitment to transparency, operational excellence, and customer trust. These results highlight the consistent performance and uninterrupted service Socotra delivers to insurers worldwide.

The Only Insurance Core Built to Modern Standards
Reducing Unplanned Downtime: Because Socotra customers always operate on the latest version of the platform with no customization, Socotra can automate comprehensive testing of its features across 100% of customers. In addition, Socotra’s mature cloud provides built-in redundancy across availability zones and supports multi-site failover to ensure resilience.
Reducing Planned Downtime: Socotra delivers small, frequent updates designed to minimize operational disruption and cost. API updates are almost always backwards compatible, and any breaking changes occur only after a long, clearly communicated deprecation period. As a result, downtime is rare and, when required, typically lasts only a few minutes and is always scheduled during off-peak hours to reduce customer impact.
Delivering High Performance: Alongside industry-leading reliability, Socotra also provides industry-leading performance. This was validated in a 2024 performance report audited by Amazon Web Services (AWS).
*Reliability metrics exclude outages from AWS.
