At Socotra, our mission is to empower the insurance industry with truly great software. We deliver the industry's most mature, flexible, and powerful technology, enabling insurers to innovate faster, adapt more easily, and satisfy customers—all at scale.
An insurer that gets the core right can remedy any other IT problem. An insurer that gets it wrong will forever experience siloed data, project overruns, and inability to adapt to change.
Built like an operating system, Socotra is the most powerful and elegantly designed insurance core on the market. Our customers benefit from configuration-only deployments, open APIs, backward-compatible upgrades, 99.994% uptime, unmatched performance, and the industry’s lowest cloud costs at scale.
We’re not just building better insurance technology; we’re building a better kind of insurance technology.
Insurers across 10 countries have selected Socotra.
Insurance lines of business deployed—spanning personal, commercial, and life insurance.
Minutes of total downtime in 2023 and 2024 combined—a period with 100 upgrades.
Average server response time under heavy load at scale; as detailed, audited, and co-published by AWS.
Socotra has made the industry’s largest investment in modern insurance core technology, and done so with the highest engineering values: clarity, elegance, quality, and reliability. Other core system providers don’t share our passion for these values, and their platforms are built with the rigid, fragile, and overly customized approaches of the past. Socotra’s values empower insurers to realize their full potential—to innovate freely, serve customers better, and build the future of insurance.
Engineers deserve to know how their technologies work. Our JSON product configuration, RESTful APIs, and advanced data model are fully documented for the world to see. This isn’t just good practice; it proclaims exactly what current and future customers can expect.
The result of building with clarity is a uniquely stable platform. When insurers know how their core system works, they can build upon it with confidence. When engineers understand the underlying architecture, they can innovate without fear of breaking critical functionality.
Trustworthy technology works as documented, quickly, every time. Socotra doesn’t just promise reliability—we deliver consumer-grade uptime and performance on par with e-commerce platforms and social media giants. Our cloud-native architecture automatically scales so that business growth never creates bottlenecks, whether handling traffic surges, integrating new data sources, or deploying real-time AI scoring.
Most importantly, because each Socotra customer runs on the same version, reliability improvements benefit everyone instantly. No custom code means no custom failures. With Socotra, insurers really can focus on serving customers and growing their business.
It just works.
No industry is more data-driven than insurance. Success requires complete, accurate, and real-time data throughout the organization.
That’s why Socotra incorporates data fluency into every aspect of our technology. Policy, account, and user action data is immediately available through multiple access methods: standardized APIs, event stream, Data Lake, and connectors. All data in Socotra is secure, auditable, and fully portable.
Socotra’s industry-leading data fluency enables industry-leading execution and strategy for the insurer.
Unnecessary complexity leads to unnecessary problems.
Socotra delivers consistent design and implementation patterns that make complex insurance operations intuitive. We eliminate redundant data, processes, and configurations. The result is the most coherent and maintainable insurance core ever developed, leading to much faster and more predictable product launches, integrations, and maintenance.
Elegance isn’t just aesthetic—it’s functional. Because Socotra’s core system values elegance, everything built upon it becomes more powerful, reliable, and adaptable to change.
Deploy with any product, geography, or distribution channel using well defined and reusable configuration. Socotra’s elegant design and full policy lifecycle allows insurers to build and maintain products with maximum flexibility and minimal effort.
Make every billing operation headache-free and ensure financial integrity for even the most complex use cases. Socotra Billing easily integrates with general ledger, payments, and policy admin systems, reducing manual processes and improving accuracy.
Deliver modern and intuitive digital experiences for customers, agents, and your team. Socotra offers an array of out-of-the-box and customizable user interfaces and portals that are fully modular.
